Under the Austrian Ordinance on Waste Prevention, Collection and Treatment of Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE Ordinance) that came into force on August 13th 2005, for equipment that you buy from Revvity after August 13th 2005, Revvity is required to finance the collection, treatment, recycling and recovery of WEEE that your new purchase replaces, on a one-for-one, like-for-like basis. The old equipment that your new purchase from Revvity replaces is referred to as Historic WEEE.
Under the WEEE Ordinance, Revvity is also required to finance the collection, treatment, recycling and recovery of any electrical and electronic equipment that you buy from Revvity after August 13th 2005 when that equipment eventually becomes waste. This is referred to as New WEEE.
The WEEE Open Scope in Austria has now been implemented as of 1 January 2018. The 2019 revision to the WEEE Ordinance published June 2019 finalises the transposition of the 6-category EEE scope and transposes RoHS amendments.
